Should you train when sore?

I’ve had a soft tissue injury in my foot recently. It was so bad I actually had it checked out to see if it was a bone fracture. Luckily it wasn’t but it still hindered my training.

Not so long ago, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to go to Thailand to train. My foot had just about recovered, I was worried I damaged it again on the first day but luckily after that, it went away. However, from the third day onwards, anything that caused my calf muscles to tense up hurt like crazy and they still do now. I don’t want to stop training but whenever I start to cool down or they take any impact the pain is excruciating.

I guess I’ve been trying my best to do what this chap is on about. I think I need to get to the swimming pool, bike or rowing machine to get my cardio in, but I have concluded nothing beats running.
