Whenever I am struggling, I always have a voice in my head that suffixes everything I do with..
…and I want to fight?
I’m not motivated to run… and I want to fight?
I’m struggling to find breath in the ring… and I want to fight?
I’m too tired to go to the gym… and I want to fight?
I feel rubbish and I can’t train properly… and I want to fight?
I’m too weak to hold pads… and I want to fight?
I want to eat and drink what I want all the time… and I want to fight?
I can’t get through this last set… and I want to fight?
I can’t take a kick… and I want to fight?
I haven’t been practicing what my instructor has advised…. and I want to fight?
I really want an extra hour in bed instead of training… and I want to fight?
I struggle to lift a 8kg dumbell in my left hand… and I want to fight?
I can’t skip for longer than 10 mins without being in pain… and I want to fight?
Why do I do extra reps when I don’t have to? Why do I spend as much time as I can training? Well I’m not going to be the best I can be by not pushing myself. Turn weaknesses into strengths and as the military say:
Train hard, fight easy
Sometimes we all need a little motivation, I just want to get in the ring a lot more than I want to give up.
